Christian began karting at the age of  7. He began racing at the age of 8. After winning his first race ever he has gone on to win numerous club championships at his home track of Grand Junction Motor Speedway.

Later on he went on to win back to back state titles in 2007 and 2008. Christian now primarily races in only national events around the country. More recently Christian has expanded Christian Bird Racing to coach younger drivers. In his first 2 years of coaching Christian has won 2 consecutive regional titles coaching.
